 Convention Objectives and Continuing Education 

The objective of the convention is to provide quality, affordable education programs that are designed to inform and educate providers on the trends, regulations and newest products and developments in Senior Living. Eleven hours of CE will be available five (5) on Tuesday and six (6) on Wednesday. Continuing Education is to be submitted for Assisted Living, Residential Care, Nursing Home and Home Health Care Administrators. 

Early Bird Registration

  • Available January 15th through February 28th

  • Early bird registration is not available to non-members of OKALA.

  • Early bird registration must be paid in full by February 15, 2019 or registrant will be invoiced at the regular attendee price.

Other Registrations

  • Regular – March 1-17

  • Late – March 18-22 (online registration closes on the 22nd)

  • Walk-in/On-site – March 23-27

  • All registration must be paid in full by March 22, 2019

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations received before Friday, March 1, 2019 will receive full registration refund.

  • Cancellations received between March 2 – March 15 will receive a 50% discount

  • No refund or credit available after March 15, 2019

  • Contact OKALA at (405) 235-5000 for substitutions. Any substitutions after March 20th will be handled at the door.

  • Cancellations must be emailed to [email protected] or faxed to 800-375-6788

  • A full refund will be granted for a registrant in the case of a medical emergency or death in the immediate family. A written request for a refund explaining the reason is required before a refund will be granted. If a registrant is required to leave Convention because of a state survey, a refund will be prorated on the number of days attended. A written request along with supporting documentation showing the date of the survey is required before a refund will be granted. The registrant must notify the convention registration desk and turn in their name badge upon exiting convention. A no-show/no-cancellation will not receive ANY credit or refund. Registrants who fail to cancel and do not attend are responsible for the full registration fee.

 

Attire

The appropriate dress for the convention is business casual. However, participants are encouraged to bring a light jacket or to dress in layers to accommodate varying room temperatures. Please remember that comfortable shoes will be helpful since you will be walking throughout the convention center and tradeshow.

If special assistance or dietary restrictions are needed please contact an OAHCP or OKALA staff member at the registration desk upon arrival and we will make every attempt to assist your request. 

Monday Evening Reception

Join us Monday evening from 5:30-7:30 PM for an AWESOME 80’s mixer of food, fun and networking opportunities. 80’s attire is highly encouraged, and a prize will be awarded on the best costume. Guests will receive two complimentary drink coupons.

Keynote Speaker: Treasure McKenzie

Treasure earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She began her career at the Muskogee Chamber of Commerce in 1999 as the program director, served as the vice president of tourism and marketing for six years, and as president and CEO from 2012 to 2016. Under her experienced and creative leadership, the Muskogee Chamber was awarded seven Redbud Awards by the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department. 

Treasure was named one of Oklahoma Magazine’s “Top 40 Under 40.” She became a certified True Colors instructor in 2015. Treasure has a passion for helping others and volunteered for Muskogee Bridges Out of Poverty for two years before being named director in July 2016. She has since implemented several new programs for Getting Ahead graduates such as financial literacy classes and a car donation program to help with transportation. Muskogee was named Bridges Out of Poverty’s Community of the Year in 2016. 

Closing Keynote: Dr. Burt Smith

Dr. Burt Smith is the president of Executive Marketing Information, an Oklahoma based marketing consultancy. He built the business almost entirely through networking and personal selling, which helped form the content for his book, The Great Game of Networking. He is also a professor of marketing and management at Oklahoma Christian University where he teaches a variety of business courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
